Fern & tales

This drawing is born into the forest where I go often to wander around, to dream, to be away a while from reality may'be. Just heard on the radio that the badger population here is growing...
It seemed a perfect friend to me to complete this drawing.
I guess they are having a lovely afternoon together, like I did yesterday, drawing them.

New brooches

Here they are, my new little ones!

Made out of airdrying clay and painted with acrylics. Sealed with a layer of varnish
Approx. size is like max 4cm, they are all different and unique as well!

My first brooch ♥

Dreamed since ages of it to start modelling my own brooches but I'm still searching from wich base I can start. This one is made of white Polymer clay and it feels comfortable and surely not heavy to wear. I made an imprint and based on that form I brought a 'cat' (how strange no? :) to life in acrylics.  Love her already but still some finishing work to do before I can call it a brooch! What do you think...do I make a family for this cat? Tell me!

They draw and travel

My contribution for the contest of the sister site of They Draw and Cook ------>They Draw and travel. Since ages I wanted to draw the homeland of my husband with all those treasures...and still I didn't putted them all on it...but it's the beginning may'be of more maps ;)

Pre-Inca Workshop

For a kind of a 'World day' on a school in the 'far-west' of Flanders I gave a workshop inspired on the pre-inca woven textiles. The kids (12-13 years) worked with stencils of adhesive plastic on cotton with acrylics and sponges. They learned about another culture that is still so unknown for them at that age...and I could share once more my infinitely passion for my second home.

Drawing a background

A very boring post is this one! I know:)...but I tried to make pics of while I was transforming this little paper into a usefull background for a project I'm working on. Later on I can tell more about it...now it's still working-time without too many words:)

Snow Monkey

Last evening I was watching a documentary about all kinds of monkeys. On one particular moment while I was drawing something else the voice was telling me of the Snow Monkeys or Japanese Macaques. I couldn't draw anymore for some minutes...and my television was asking me to watch this scenery. I never saw this before. The monkeys are sitting in a thermal spring with fog everywhere because of the difference in temperature between the water and the air, a difference of 60°c....!!! Only the monkeys who are placed on a good social level in the group can enter the water, others can freeze sometimes till dead. Not only that fact, but the way the lucky ones are enjoying the warm water is just an unforgettable image...I was sooo touched...and tried to make some touching image inspired on this incredible animal.

Citywalk

Since more then a week I arrived in a kind of 'background'-mood. I want to explore more with acrylics underneath watercolour...it looks very attractive and there are millions of options...
What do you think of the backgrounds I'm trying? This one I've made with acrylic...it's me, exploring an unknown little city in the 'far-west' of Belgium :)
