Workshop Calligraphy #2 in Antwerp

       Some images from my second workshop I gave in a coffeeshop in Antwerp, called Mokkakapot.

Pure ZEN and more than lovely afternoons! Preparing now for a next one this weekend in Gent hosted by Femke Coopmans from Swinging Cahier in combination with a delicious brunch! That will give some delicious images again!

Calligraphy vs Lettering : Workshop Lugano by Martina Flor and Guiseppe Salerno

Last weekend we took the car and drove to Switzerland.

In the first place we planned this weekend due to a workshop Calligraphy vs Lettering that would be thought by Martina Flor and Guiseppe Salerno.
While I am drowning myself more and more into typography, lettering and calligraphy it seemed the perfect moment to join this workshop.All the way we went to Lugano for it. 7 hours we were writing and drawing with an impressive drive! The best birthday-gift I could dream! I was overwhelmed afterwards and we finished this 'cumpleaños' in a little restaurant somewhere in Lugano. I felt so happy with this experience and it inspired me a lot for my next calligraphy workshops in Antwerp and Ghent.

This week I was digitizing the word we lettered with Martina after writing it in Brushpen calligraphy with Guiseppe. Let me know what you think of it. It was a delicious weekend! More picturses about the alps and surroundings soon! Muchas gracias Martina and Guiseppe for making my birthday even more special!

Calligraphy workshop #1

 Last weekend I did a first trial-workshop about Calligraphy.

We were invited to an incredible workspace near Ghent runned by Nicolas Van Parys and his team : Artestiek Buro Vrije Ruimte in Drongen.
We had a marvelous afternoon together with the nibs and ink between all those papers on the incredible table surrounded by a lovely wallpainting done by Nicolas himself.
All my guests went homewards with a huge smile on their face and a head full of dancing letters!
 Time to do some finetuning within the little guide I made for this workshop.
Up to the next one in Antwerp!

Wild of letters

Did I told you that handlettering and calligraphy are fascinating me again after decades!

Soon I'm giving a first little workshop and this chalkboard I've made is just a note to ask something from my participatnts. Thought that would inspire them ;)

After joining an online workshop by Molly Jacques about modern calligraphy and one by Sean McCabe on digitizing handlettering I went totally wild and nobody will stop me!

I'm looking forward to one given by Jessica Hische about composing letterforms and if you feel something like...mmm, that's interesting, just join the courses in Skillshare!

Fern & tales

This drawing is born into the forest where I go often to wander around, to dream, to be away a while from reality may'be. Just heard on the radio that the badger population here is growing...
It seemed a perfect friend to me to complete this drawing.
I guess they are having a lovely afternoon together, like I did yesterday, drawing them.

Always had the idea to take my bag with pencils and paper to my most favourite forest nearby.

And so I had a loooovely monday-afternoon...and I had some enchanted visit!

Into calligraphy...again

O O O !

I rediscovered an old love from me. He exists out of a pen and ink!

That's all...oh and he felt in love with my righthand by the way.

So we are the perfect team to go back to what I learned as a girl from 6 from my father.

I want to get used again with these materials and the writing and the letters itself and jumped into an online course thaught by the incredible Molly Jacques on Skillshare

In the past few weeks I was playing again with my pens and the black ink, how it feels, bringing the liquid drop to the paper and making lines, letters...looks like dancing!

And it feels just perfect!

Home is...

Since some weeks she is trying to hold all those memories, to keep them very close, to feel them every moment of the day. She is craving to everything that is far away at this moment. She wanted that she brought with her a little piece of Andes to keep and to care. It would be her treasure with all the memories in it. Not just cold granite.

'Home is where the mountain is' she whispered and she felt home.
