Let go

Here she is ! My new illustration for a brand new and touching Lily-column. About saying goodbye, letting go someone you love and farewell. About the pain we feel on those moments and how we try to go on with our lives after it. In France I saw many swallows and every year I am very touched about the migration of all the birds. When they travel above my head to the south I start dreaming and the melancholy enters my heart. They have to say goodbye twice a year...and stay so proud after all. We can learn still a lot from them! And so I gave them a place in this drawing and I'm so proud to share with you the marriage between the column and the drawing on the site of the online-magazine 'Ziezózon'. Although it's in Dutch you can find there a bunch of funny and interesting links to all kinds of subjects. Enjoy this day!

Letting go is so painful but you have used a lovely image to say it. Lily's world looks lovely even though I can't understand the words.xx

Oh, I'm so proud of you!!!! Your drawings look perfectly well to that column. I can't understand anything either, but you are right - it's interesting to have a look there...
It's hard to say "good-bye" and much more difficult - "farewell"! Birds are a miracle and I realize how little I know about them. They don't have feelings, but they get attached to each other and the instinct of being together is very strong with them. We have a very famous Bulgarian tale about two swallows - a mother and a child that must separate, because the little one is ill and can't fly away to the southern lands. The mother puts him in a broken jar under a flower, so it stays dry when there're storms and cold outside and can drink rain drops, rolling from the flower leaves. At the end - the mother returns and they are happy to be together again...
Have a nice week!! x
