After all the preparations for my exhibition and giveaway and weeks full of nerves I can look back with a pleasant feeling and time has come to take my pencil again and go back to basics. Me, my righthand, my imagination...and of course my Dalí! Do you wonder why I love drawing cats? Artists and cats...still fascinating me! One of my biggest heroes is surely Gustav Klimt. You know the touching photo of Klimt and his cat? Love that image! Artists and cats...they feed eachother all day long! ♥
Yesterday we celebrated together with 11 Antwerp Academies of Art, Music and Drama the yearly event on wich we want to show to our arts to a bigger audience. It was the first time they organized a huge event in one place, everybody together under one roof. It was a terrific day, loooots of people, parents with their kids and an enormous crowd where present to discover our treasures. While the big crowd was turning around different stages and performances, my coleagues and me started a Tableau Vivant. Students on the piano and harp played some classical tunes while we tried to illustrate words given by different people with ink and pencil on a tremendous paper. So much fun we had to do this! Not that easy but the result was quite impressive. All those styles together...one big story...hidden in lines. We have to do more things like this! And soon want to try that with my 6 years old students :) .jpg)
I'm very busy to find for every kid in the two academies where I'm teaching a good address. I'm taking them into the world of Mail-art. They prepared a postcard with their self-made stamp and a design on the other side about the house where they are living...their place. The mail-artist who will receive the card will add his/her house/place onto the card and send them back to the kid. So I can start planning a little international expo with all the results of this mini-project.
Don't blame me! I just had fun watching the image in a childrens' book of art and I started drawing 'Lady with an Ermine' of Leonardo Da Vinci. A work from around 1490. Immediately I saw myself in it with my little Dalí. Everyday we are looking in this position to the garden, the birds, the bees and so many more moving material out there! :) But I guess I had to think about us because Dalí, my cat, looks like an ermine on his age of only 5 months now ;)
On the road we went in my blue car to the capital of this little country to be part of the opening in the Center for Fine Arts (BOZAR), me and my best friend. See her 'Heart' above! It's really so small but so poetic and touching! Even it has a little door you can open! She was one of the winners in a huge contest of Art in Belgium, organized by a television channel that's more orientated to art and culture in general. Watch the gallery of the contest to see more works! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed a wonderfull evening full of really 'Fine art'!

Again! (See other post about this theme here) Time to guide for RASA vzw and see above the lovely location where I can do this for almost two weeks long like three times a day. Inside it isn't that original anymore but on the first floor there is a wonderful room to give space to art objects and more. Just perfect. I'm happy to receive the kids in this part of the country and to show them a new world of ...art.
Since this week I started as freelancer for the Rasa project. Rasa is an organisation that brings art-education to a very young audience. 7 Belgian artists are showing a masterpiece to the children, they will explore a new world with new materials, I'm guiding them trough the exposition and afterwards they can create their own masterpiece in the same room. It's so lovely to do, to guide them, to talk about art with children, to give them a new view on this huge world and the world of art in all of us!
