Type to table

Once I bought a table to be my drawing table upstairs in my little room that would be named my studio. After some years that table looked like one big mess and it was defenitely time to bring some change in our house. And that was very easy being pregnant of twin girls and realizing they needed a room for them, to play, to laugh, to be together, to smile and have fun...and to sleep!

So the table had to move and the best destination she could get was the living room. A table to eat on, to chat, to laugh, to share stories. The girls entered our lives and now after three months I feel myself ready to start a huge challenge. That table looks like one big chalkboard and that is exactly what I want to do with it. Using to write on it. In my letters. Quotes, that must be a good exercise to write enough letters. And I want to write every day one quote! I have to search 365 quotes together or better, I ask people to send me their favourite ones and I can letter for them, may'be for a daughter or son his birthday, or for a special occasion in their lives? Let's start this challenge!

The first quote of the year.

Calligraphy vs Lettering : Workshop Lugano by Martina Flor and Guiseppe Salerno

Last weekend we took the car and drove to Switzerland.

In the first place we planned this weekend due to a workshop Calligraphy vs Lettering that would be thought by Martina Flor and Guiseppe Salerno.
While I am drowning myself more and more into typography, lettering and calligraphy it seemed the perfect moment to join this workshop.All the way we went to Lugano for it. 7 hours we were writing and drawing with an impressive drive! The best birthday-gift I could dream! I was overwhelmed afterwards and we finished this 'cumpleaños' in a little restaurant somewhere in Lugano. I felt so happy with this experience and it inspired me a lot for my next calligraphy workshops in Antwerp and Ghent.

This week I was digitizing the word we lettered with Martina after writing it in Brushpen calligraphy with Guiseppe. Let me know what you think of it. It was a delicious weekend! More picturses about the alps and surroundings soon! Muchas gracias Martina and Guiseppe for making my birthday even more special!

Into calligraphy...again

O O O !

I rediscovered an old love from me. He exists out of a pen and ink!

That's all...oh and he felt in love with my righthand by the way.

So we are the perfect team to go back to what I learned as a girl from 6 from my father.

I want to get used again with these materials and the writing and the letters itself and jumped into an online course thaught by the incredible Molly Jacques on Skillshare

In the past few weeks I was playing again with my pens and the black ink, how it feels, bringing the liquid drop to the paper and making lines, letters...looks like dancing!

And it feels just perfect!

Connected

My first publication for a web magazine!!!
My friend Lily, she wrote a column about being connected with the people around you
for Bonoboz.be, a warm and interesting place on the web for Wo(mens) :)and she invited me to make an illustration for the little story.
I had a marvellous drawing day and today we can enjoy our publication!!!
We cannot pick up the phone today...please let us fly for a while :)
Soon we will be back to earth ;)
