Becoming 'momma'

Dear friends,

as you can see life gave my this special gift for the next months.

We are expecting new life and even more special, there are growing two little angels inside of me!

I'm almost 5 months far into this adventure and finally I can return to my old behaviours...like drawing.

I didn't suffer any awful morning, my body is doing very well, but my mind just cannot stop wondering, thinking, dreaming about that new future.

It feels good to return to paper and pencils. A long summer is waiting for me to enjoy the growing belly and to turn this all in new drawings.

The babies will present themself somewhere in october ;)

Into calligraphy...again

O O O !

I rediscovered an old love from me. He exists out of a pen and ink!

That's all...oh and he felt in love with my righthand by the way.

So we are the perfect team to go back to what I learned as a girl from 6 from my father.

I want to get used again with these materials and the writing and the letters itself and jumped into an online course thaught by the incredible Molly Jacques on Skillshare

In the past few weeks I was playing again with my pens and the black ink, how it feels, bringing the liquid drop to the paper and making lines, letters...looks like dancing!

And it feels just perfect!

Dear friends,

I'm still alive, still.

These months I'm feeling like doing the best to not drown in the bath of work and deadlines. I'm doing the best I can, I'm enjoying the work I do but my mental mood and spirit is suffering a bit.

The best thing is that I really love my different jobs, just combining all of them can take sometimes too much energy. Look, I'm drawing paperdolls inspired on images made in the 17th century. Love to do that and sure  if you know that soon kids will can take their piece of paperdoll-paper in the museum and go colouring and cutting the dolls designed by me. Soon more, and also about that globe of Mercator.

Promise you to don't stay away too long from my beloved blog. Have to tell so much more!

Don't forget this place, I'm still here on the globe :)

Spring Breeze

Bright Knights

Just found this call for an Australian band that is recording a kind of stop-motion video. On the website of Bright Knights you can download a frame and colour it in as you like (not digital) just keeping in mind to make the background blue. Very original form of editing a video, with coloured frames from all over the world, so different and subcultural. Hope mine will be pasted in the video too :) . Feel free to download, colour the frame, scan it and send it back to the guys!

Made this as an illustration for a column of a friend. Tomorrow is even a bigger day to come!

Beneath the Dangerous Beauty

After discovering a fairytale-mushroom in the forest on a sunday walk I got the idea to transform him in a mushroom-girl. Don't ask me why.
She looks very pretty but be careful with ladies like her :)

The mushroom is better known as the Fly Agaric (eng), Vliegenzwam (nl) or Matamoscas (esp), is toxic but still not too dangerous as other can be!

Received today!
This postcard from the Canadian Kiera Panell.
I'm sooo happy cause it arrived on the perfect moment. Since more then a year I signed up on the International Union of Mail artists...and I realize that I still didn' t took any action in it although I love this kind of art-making!!! Anyone who wants to try this, join in this community and start creating and sending around the world!

La gigante

Remembering last friday when I went to the city-streetact of Royal de Luxe. A french theatre that is used working with giant puppets. They need like 60 humans to move the 'little' girl and her still much bigger uncle. Would be nice if they could live forever close to us. That helps us to see life a little bit different...and they brought people together again! Huge!

He arrived!

How many months I was dreaming again of having a cat. 'El dibujo del gato', without being inspired by these incredible inspiring creatures. Wietske is living with my parents since I went to the other side of the world to start a new life. When I came back, she was so happy to live with them that it looked horrible to take her again away from the place she was used by then. So after more then two years alone, without any 'moustache' close to me, finally I can make a little dance of hapiness. It's a boy with a white nose and toes...Only two days he is living here with us and he is already our god! Just one problem : his name! I thought about MAYO, just sounds sweet but many friends refer to the sauce on the french fries..., my husband likes MICHI, like they call cats in Peru, michimichimichi...but that sounds so inpersonal to me, he should have a name that suites him perfect, but it has to sound in spanish too! Some names I found on the net that could work: MAGO , MANTO, MAU. What should I choose? Or is Mayo just right? ;) Or do you have still another nice name for this lovely man of me! Help me! :)
