Copenhagen Christmas 2012

We spent Christmas in Copenhagen this year. Last year we entered 2012 on the isle of Texel in the north of The Netherlands, next year it's possible we will fly to Boston ;)

Copenhagen is so fresh! Not only the temperature but the people, traffic, interiors, public places. 

A very different style of living, must be the scandinavian way. 

We can learn a lot from that style...don't know where to begin!

A little intermission in the forest

 I was swept away this morning by this beauty. Beauty isn't even the right word. This is pure magic!

Return to my beloved forest

Me and my heaven

These places aren't my heaven at all...this is where I live most of the days right now...between Sint-Pauwels and Antwerp. But the clouds, those heavens can lift me up from one moment and make me start dreaming over other places in this world. We are so lucky to be able to imaginate! :)

To think about

That forest...my forest. Very close to where we live in this country full of people and houses, streets, cars, industry and all the things that makes us crazy...in the middle of all those things lays my forest, close to the border with the Netherlands. I took one picture today while my short visit on this warm and very sunny sunday.

This is it. With a phrase I found through Pinterest on 'I can read' ( wonderfull place to hang around!) and a little teepee that reminds me of wild-camping and vacation in all kind of countries where I needed courage, where I found happiness. On the moment I took this picture...I felt happy. To be there, to see this view and still I don't believe this is Belgium. I felt happy because I thought a while I was in a Polish forest close to the border with Russia and it lies just some 5 minutes from our house :)

Earth & Music

Two things that inspired me since I was born came together this week.

First my fascination for globes and maps. For the educational part of an upcoming exhibition in the museum where I'm working I'm redesigning the globe of Mercator, belgian and worldfamous for his maps, globes and projections, for kids. They will go home with their own little Mercator-globe...if I manage it this week to finish this project! And today just opened an exhibition in Sint-Niklaas about this man and his maps. Like I was waiting for it to inspire me more and more...I'm ready to make a nice educational plate of it.

And even it looks like I'm not drawing anymore, I do but still busy times in the museum...so time for my other inspiration : Music! We went to Utrecht (Nl) yesterday. Never been there, enjoyed the afternoon strolling around the lovely houses and little shops, drinking to much latte and eating lemoncake...to finish the day in Tivoli to pick up the concert of Lianne La Havas. All because we were to late to buy a ticket for her concert in Brussels...so luckily we are to live in the smallest country of the whole world...driving to another country for a concert isn't that hard. Lianne was just perfect and made our day/weekend! Discover her tunes and be overwhelmed by this brand new voice and enormous talent!

Time for a new week, a lot of work and still hoping to find some time to draw a gato ;)
