This day

1/ I woked up with a very strong light in my bedroom. The sky was deepgray on one side and the sun was burning the other side. Somewhere over the rainbow...that was my place this morning. 2/ The postmen ringed once and there he was with a little gift for my sister-in-law...hope she will love this creation made by Fleurfatale. The way of packaging made me feel so happy and let's not forget the jewels inside. Visit Greet's shop FLEURFATALE...and discover a sweet world of beauties. 3/ A shot of productivity in my class this afternoon, working with soapstone...and they loved it! More photos on my other blog / EL DIBUJO DEL NIÑO 4/ A rare photo of myself with my students, thanks to my collegue Ellen who  took this picture :)

And now back home, time for tea and a soaked biscuit :) Hooooooooray!

Home is...

...where I lay down my muffin-cat.

After a whole day in a clinical landscape for a very short surgery I'm so glad to can go back home...receive the warmth and love of my two men and make some delicious muffins to tell them how I need them and how lucky we are to be healthy and happy ever after.

Sunny sunday in France

Some 300 km from where I live...so very close is this little town of Le Tréport. Great feeling to have the possibility of being one day in Normandy and eating the best fish in the world! We took my parents with us for a birthday gift-day on the French coast and all four of us were so happy on the end of the day...just ...a perfect day!

Another Birthday :)

Both of my parents are celebrating their birthday in september...and more exactly on the 10th and 11th. On the 10th also they welcomed two years ago their first grandchild, Liese. So, last weekend was full of partytime and delicious meals. This drawing I made some time ago for a friend in Madrid, but I played around with it, added some background...and finished it as a birthday card for my dad, because he also is a cat-lover-man! :)

Party - poster

The end of august we are having our own street-party here! Already the third year! It started with some drinks and a little bit animation for all the kids of our street. This year we will have a huge BBQ, two bands will play, a neighbour will present our street-beer (homebrewed) and I will give a workshop for everyone who want to joy. We will make an exposition with it in the afternoon and party the whole day long! :) This poster is hanging from now on hanging on all the windows...funny!

A day in the park

Looks like horror but it was just part of an act from Theater Tieret...a belgian company that performed on a little festival in the park of Lokeren, a typical village in Flanders. Every year I go to enjoy these performers with puppets or just themselves. I am absolutely not a good photographer, but this one has something!!! Look the little child ...she doesn't know what to think of this purple smoke...the other childs were yelling and she didn't know to wake up tears or to laugh with it like all the adults did...without knowing the result I took this image in a reflexing second! :)

Happy Mama!

I was thinking on a kind of self-portrait to do, me,
like a Peruvian mother with her cat-child.
That turned out like I wanted, but the paper I used to fill the dress made it all together with the black hair very Japanese. I don't mind that. All the different cultures mixed up in one little drawing...looks fine to me...and more important, my mum loved it!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mums in the world!!!

Dead or alive?

Sometimes very little things can made my day...it can be the smallest thing on earth that makes me feel living for 200%!
This morning when I arrived in the museum where I am working I discovered finally the butterfly that was flying high in the printing-room since some days. These rooms are in a medieval building with very high walls and windows, so high that I couldn't catch the poor animal and give it his freedom.
When I came back there after the weekend, there wasn't any butterfly anymore. This morning I tried the printing machine by the hugh wheel and almost I crushed him with my enormous feet!!! There he was!

Closed with his wings, black and very sad! I was so happy to find him, took it with a lot of care to the garden and gave him some green leaves to sit down. The little poor butterfly opened his wings very slowly and tried some times to move them again...it was soooo sad to see. He looked like an old airplane that doesn't function well anymore! I was so sad but fascinated...while I prepaired my workshop I was running every minute outside to see him back. Again the wings were closed...he was totally ill of beiing in that room for several days with the smell of those horrible liquids we use to etch! I could take some lovely photographs of this kind of butterfly...he watched me and opened his wings...he made me sooooo happy...and at noon there wasn't any butterfly more in the garden...I hope he found his freedom!!!

What a beginning of this Earth Day!!!

Chocolate - madness

Like every year time had come to taste the delicious chocolate-eggs...bought myself one package of dark eggs and could bring them into my tummy in less then one day I guess.
Easter passed and so the chocolate is gone. Anyway, still there is a package of white chocolate for my husband...but not one finger will touch them :), if it isn't dark then I'm save.

Easter cups

Time for chocolate eggs, easter bunnies jumping out of the bushes...and eating too much sweet things. It's only once a year easter. Enjoy, relax and taste! Have a happy easter.
These little cupcakes are a surprise for my family ...hope they will like my cinnamon/apple cakes...here I come! :)

Baby-dream

I found these two feathers of a Guinea Fowl ('Parelhoen' in Dutch) and it brought me to this drawing of a bird that's collecting little things to build a warm nest for future baby-birds. Now it must be official, it's spring! Every morning the road is full of birds. They're like talking to each other in groups of three or four...and doensn't care about upcoming 'monster'-cars. A lot of work to do for the animal-planet these days! Let's save them and drive carefully!!!

Irish blood

For all the Irish people over the world this little drawing cause I believe there flows a sparkle of Irish blood in me! Where it came from is still a mystery but I'm proud to have it...like my sparkle of Peruvian blood also. Guess I'm a mixture of many blood :), a child of this planet!!!

Good girl! / Buena niña!

And yes, he visited my tiny little house this night...and it seems that I was a good girl the last year...Thank you so much Holy-Sinty!

HE is in town! / EL ha llegado!

HE : The holy men who brings his annual visit to all the childrens in town. Nope, it's not Santa! We call him 'Sinterklaas'. That's a bigger tradition in these regions then Santa. In the night from 5 to 6 december he will walk on top of the city and villages, on his white hourse and his helping friend 'Zwarte Piet', an afro-type who will put the bad childs into his bag and take them with him to Spain where they come from. A typical tradition in Belgium and The Netherlands...and we are ready for it...although we aren't 6 years old anymore. Don't forget your shoe, some sugar for the horse, a carrot and your most beautiful letter with all your wishes for this year! Good luck and sweet dreams, ...♥
