Time for a trip!

 I started in my second year of Bookbinding at the Academy and this is one of my trials for a long-stitch binding. A piece of thick felt and wool coloured and made by some woman from Aayacucho-Perú.

So happy with my bag of Peruvian wool...in all kind of colours!

Interesting to combine making books with some embroidery.
Time for a trip I guess with this little diary?

The giant letterbook : FINISHED!

 Remember some months ago? When I started cutting linoleum for this project. 

Almost 30 lino-plates later the book is ready!!! I will didn't count my tears while binding this book.

Recently I'm following a course about bookbinding and all the related things, but binding a book of this size (A3) isn't even a command in the first year of the course. So I illustrated the text of Barbara Vanden Eynde and finished the prints as one enormous book. The book will be used in a guided tour for toddlers and it has even the size of a toddler. Hope they will love it!!!

Sketchbook Project 2012 - Part 2

 I want to take quite often pictures of this little book as I have to send it back to Brooklyn  in the end of January, to have a nice memory of how the stories were born inside the book. Today no train...so one day of rest for the little one. :)

Time for Q and his friends. This is how far I am for now. Still to com is L and F.

In black and white for now to have a bright look on the form itself.

The second one. Don't search for a link between the animal and the letter. The illustrations are going together with a text about letters and the magic of it. In this one it goes about the b that can form glasses together with his broter d...and so on ;) I know the owl doesn't need glasses but he was the right animal for this one I guess.
